Our client, a global company with offices in High Wycombe, is looking for a bright and intelligent person to join their Business Development team.

The main objective for the role is transform the organisation's lower spend customers into a larger, more dependant customer base. The successful candidate will be responsible for following up marketing leads with the view to create rapport with perspective clients to build the business.

Ideally, the candidate will be university educated and have strong Maths and English skills. They will also have had some sales experience.

Responsibilities

· Develop customer base of large, low spend customers with irregular order flow, understand why they are not buying and eradicate any negativity.
· Follow up marketing generated sales leads on a daily basis, improve the conversion rate of the sales leads, and convert a percentage of low /irregular spend customers into regular purchasing customers
· Work closely with the external team to understand potential new customers.
· Gain updates from other departments on the needs of the business and execute these in line with gaining new customers
· Promote new marketing schemes / products, stock profiling & stock clearance deals.
· Understand new customers and what product range they buy
· Target business needs to these specific customers and understand price pointing and respect agreed margins
· Understand the needs of the customer first and foremost. Remain calm at all times and ensure the customer needs are met wherever possible, always balancing the needs of the customer against the needs of the business
· Quote customers on the phone and communicate knowledge of the product range
· Investigate any errors or mistakes in order to rectify and ensure compliance with quality control.

Requirements and Skills

· Degree educated
· Experience within a telephone or face to face sales environment
· Excellent communication, relationship building and negotiation skills
· High level of numeracy and literacy
· Excel skills including VLOOKUP's, pivot tables and formulae
· Ability to interpret data accurately
