Technical and Office Assistant - Graduate opportunity

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a client within the construction industry for a Technical and Office Assistant. Due to the growth of the business and increase in workload, they need extra support within geotechnical and soil analysis and could lead into a long career in that field. A degree in a related field, such and civil engineering or environmental is essential, as well as strong proven administrative skills. Any additional necessary training will be provided.

Our client offer excellent benefits as well as on-going training and progression opportunities. Basic salary c£25,000.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and collate relevant tender documentation
  • Liaison with the site managers to ensure smooth running of jobs
  • Analyse and collate relevant information from Soil/Ground Investigation, with a view to providing recommendations to Sales & Design once the System is fully understood by the client
  • Collation of daily material usage and plant movement data (provided by the Site Managers)
  • Managing office and site health and safety administration
  • Collating pre-start documentation for the client
  • Keeping the job list up to date
  • Responding to Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and relevant PQQ compliance databases which clients review
  • Preliminary costings of jobs

Key Skills:

  • A relevant degree within civil engineering or geotechnical
  • Experience within the construction sector would be advantageous
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work well under pressure
  • Organised and methodical approach with a keen eye for detail
  • Adaptable to change
