Merging Offices

We moved our Wokingham team to offices in central Bracknell, and brought our Maidenhead, Slough and Windsor teams under one roof in Marlow

Third Generation

A third generation took over as Joanna Cooper (John Hamilton’s daughter) became MD of the company.

2014
New Marketing Prospects

Business Development team brought on board to focus on growing new business and providing a stronger marketing presence on line and with outdoor advertising at Maidenhead and Slough train stations.

More New Offices

It was during this period that John and Peter expanded the company across the Thames Valley, opening new offices in key towns.

Became an REC Member

Awarded REC (Recruitment Employment Confederation) Audited status, meaning that we work to their code of professional practice.

The Start of a New Millennium

We welcomed the start of the new Millennium and opened a brand new office in the Royal town of Windsor.

In the 90’s the Bucks and Berks brand changed to Bucks and Berks Recruitment

The Growth of the Company

In the 80’s the shoulder pads got bigger as did the company. Our Managing Director, John Hamilton took over the reins from his parents along with his brother Peter Hamilton.

Advertising Roles

New roles were advertised in the branch window or the local papers, such as the Slough Observer. Mostly secretarial and typist roles.

Swinging Sixties

The Swinging 60’s saw the mass uptake of Typewriters. We modernised our offering, training temps to type and providing temporary staff to companies with their own typewriter.

Farnham Road Office

Moved to an office on the Farnham Road

1947
Lorna Hamilton

Lorna Hamilton acquired the business, initially running it from her family front room in Farnham Road, Slough. She focused on developing relationships with local businesses, and changed the name to Bucks and Berks Commercial Bureau.

1922
Beginings

Started as ‘Bucks and Berks Domestic Agency’ working out of Wellington Street Slough, supplying maids, cleaners and cooks to large country houses and estates in the area – reminiscent of Downton Abbey!
