Area Sales Manager - Surrey and Kent area

Our client are a fantastic, well established, national supplier of premium products for fine dining, pastry and hospitality. They are a customer facing business and the Area Sales Manager will always be at the forefront of this long terms initiative, responsible for the Surrey and Kent locations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and prioritise personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agree business aims, especially managing personal time and productivity
  • Manage product/service mix, pricing and margins according to agreed aims
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, to optimise quality of service, business growth and customer and satisfaction
  • Use customer and prospect contact activities tools and systems and update relevant information held in these systems
  • Plan/carry out/ support local marketing activities to agree budgets and timescales, and integrate personal sales efforts with other organised marketing activities, e.g, product launches, promotions, advertising, exhibitions and telemarketing
  • Respond to and follow up sales enquiries using appropriate methods
  • Record, analyse, report and administer according to systems and requirements
  • Attend and present at external customer meetings and internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and business development
  • Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills
  • Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirement relating to care of equipment

Key skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the management of confidential and sensitive documents
  • Intermediate MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
  • Ability to build strong relationships and professional credibility quickly
  • Trustworthy and confidential
  • Ability to relate and work with people at all levels
  • Ability to prioritise workloads
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
