Our client, a national retailer with their Head Office in Marlow, is seeking an experienced Category Manager to help achieve sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To manage the day-to-day business of the category, ensuring sales, net margin and rebates are achieved
  • Negotiate cost prices and margin support as required
  • To identify, negotiate and deliver incremental revenue
  • Responsible for supplier negotiations and drafting of new supplier contracts
  • Carry out daily competitor checks
  • To work closely with the stock planning team
  • To develop and maintain a keen awareness of the market at all times, anticipating product, price and new technology trends, actively seeking new opportunities to maintain a competitive edge

Key / People skills:

  • Previous experience of working in a similar commercial retail role is essential
  • Confident and assertive in decision making
  • Team player who is self-motivated, organised, and has the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Highly numerate with a methodical approach to work
  • Organised and able to prioritise
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Highly efficient
  • Flexible approach
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent attention to detail
