Fantastic opportunity for a paralegal to join our client, a successful law firm based in Brighton and assist the fee earners with the profitable management of their caseload while practicing the highest codes of professional conduct and customer service. The Paralegal is expected to use a high degree of organisational skills, self-management, and initiative.
Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. Excellent opportunity to grow within a fantastic law firm.
You must have a minimum of 1-2 years conveyancing experience to apply.
Main Duties
- To carry out daily file opening and file administration
- To deal with additional enquiries raised by buyer’s solicitors and prepare replies
- To progress post-exchange and post-completion work and files
- To make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up to date computerised diary for the fee earners
- To attend to clients both in person and on the telephone and to provide support
- To prepare mail and enclosures for dispatch
- Comply with the Solicitors Accounts Rules and the Rules on the Professional Conduct of Solicitors
- To undertake legal research in areas of work undertaken by the Firm, or as directed
- Completing administrative tasks, answering incoming calls, and ensuring good customer service
- To provide cover alongside the other paralegals for reception at our head office
Skills/Experience
- 1-2 years experience in conveyancing
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly numerate
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Works well under pressure
- Need to be self-motivated
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- Fully computer literate
