Field Based Stock Controller - food/logistics industry!

Our client, in the fresh food/logistics field, is looking for an Asset/Stock Controller (field based) to join their team and proactively manage our client's pool of assets (plastic crates/pallets) which they provide to many of the UK's leading supermarkets.

This is a field based role managing an area from Kent along the A1 up as far as Lincolnshire.

The role also includes conducting field based visits to complete customer audits, retailer receipts and other meetings and to manage the audit process and to recover assets from non registered users where possible.

We are looking for someone with experience EITHER in the food/fresh product industry or retail or operations sector with stock control/logistics background. Knowledge of SAP is also preferred as well as strong communication skills.

On top of a generous basic salary our client is also offering a company car.

Duties include
* Management of customer audit programme to ensure full compliance and accountability in accordance with Asset Control Procedures
* Recovery of assets from non-registered users via internal or external providers
* Maintenance of database of non-registered users and recoveries and management of third party providers
* Provide weekly / monthly management reports detailing stock levels and efficiencies within the supply chain and identify key areas for action
* Manage the customer stock levels to agreed parameters
* Provision of key reports both internal and external
* Conduct physical audits at customer premises
* Calculation and communication of supplier audit results
* Provide customer training on Web Clearing System when required
* Identify opportunities for recollections within existing customer base, support Customer services / NAMs and resolve
* Accountability for all retailer audits, agree programmes and delivery of results
* Work with customer base for continuous improvement
* Attend Head Office meetings 1 day per month


Skills/Experience
* Experience in food / fresh produce industry, operations or retail sector
* Stock control / logistics background
* Knowledge of SAP preferred useful, but not essential
* Ability to present to an audience, excellent communication skills
* Understanding of the food industry supply chain
* Strong interpersonal skills / negotiation skills / managing conflict
* Strong IT skills (MS Excel essential)
* Self-motivated / results orientated
* Well organised, methodical approach
