Management Accountant - Part Time, 15 hours per week

Our client, a friendly successful finance organisation are currently searching for a Management Accountant on part time basis of approximately 15 hours per week however, there will be an opportunity to increase these hours as the company grows.

Hours can be flexible to suit the successful candidate and work will be carried out within the organisations office and client sites on a ratio of 50/50.

Based in Marlow, our client provides a variety of financial services from provisional Finance Directors/Controllers to organising and setting up new systems to improve cash flow. If successful you will be responsible for both the internal and external bookkeeping of financial accounts and ad-hoc project work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage cashbook activities including Bank reconciliations and cash flow forecasting
  • Manage all general ledger activity, responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations, prepayment and accrual reconciliations monthly, this includes temp holiday and other accruals, through to trial balance
  • Provision of audit information and assist in the audit process
  • Customer Invoicing/Billing ensuring accuracy of contract changes and amendments
  • Manage Purchase to Pay Process
  • Prepare financial and statistical reports as required
  • Assist in the review and preparation of the month end management reporting including variance analysis and commentary
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
  • Completion and submission of quarterly VAT returns
  • Recommend changes in financial policies and procedures, as necessary
  • Assist with Corporate Governance requirements and monitoring, including Money Laundering compliance, GDPR and new client set up
  • Other duties as directed by the Managing Director or Technical Director
  • All of the above is relevant to both in house and client facing activity

Key Skills/Experience/Education

  • Qualified AAT or QBE
  • Degree Level or equivalent
  • At least 3 years' post qualification experience.
  • Sage and Xero experience and knowledge is preferred
  • Excel skills essential to immediate level
  • Knowledge of data processing capabilities and procedures
  • Strong commercial acumen and desire to progress and succeed
  • Must be flexible, willing to work extra hours in order to ensure deadlines are met and able to perform well under pressure
  • Self-motivated, well organised and capable of planning and directing in order to ensure that their personal and department goals and objectives are met
