Our client, currently based in Wokingham are seeking a Payroll Administration Assistant to join their accounts team. The main purpose of the role is to assist in the timely and accurate payment of wages.

Please note: this client will be moving offices within the next 12months anywhere in Reading, Bracknell or Wokingham, so does require the successful candidate to be able to travel to any of these locations.

Salary flexible dependant on experience.

Key duties to include:

  • Accurately calculating hours and mileage for weekly wages
  • Collating timesheets and chasing up any missing documents
  • Query mis-matching timesheets with other departments where necessary
  • Entering timesheet hours onto payroll system
  • Enter hours information on to Sage Payroll or advise CIS staff of billing Invoices required
  • Check and enter CIS Invoices (including Company CIS invoices) on to Sage Accounts
  • Assist with the processing of the payment run for CIS invoices
  • Update and maintain all relevant Excel spreadsheets
  • Send out Payslips/Remittance Advices to employees
  • Enter new starters on to Sage HR database
  • All postal duties including opening and distribution of daily post, franking outgoing mail and taking mail to post box
  • Hotel booking where necessary
  • Answering any payroll queries as necessary
  • Filing, photocopying and scanning
  • Any other relevant duties as required by the Payroll Manager

Skills & knowledge required

  • Good administration skills and experience
  • Payroll knowledge an advantage
  • Ability to accurately calculate hours and mileage using systems provided
  • Able to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to build rapport and effective working relationships
  • Must be well-organised with the ability work well under pressure
  • Sage software experience preferable though not essential as trainign can be provided
  • Must have excellent IT skills including Excel
