Payroll Manager required for a thriving, growing company in Wokingham. The successful candidate will have excellent managerial and finance skills and be responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of the payroll department to ensure an efficient and timely process for all clients.

Salary £27,000 - £35,000 dependant on experience.

Key duties to include:

  • Management and overseeing of the payroll department on a daily basis
  • Monthly & weekly payroll reporting
  • HMRC submissions
  • Overseeing SMP/SSP, expenses and correction of any errors
  • Ensuring that appropriate internal systems are implemented and maintained
  • Payroll planning and analysis
  • Identifying training needs within the department
  • Evaluating and recommending areas for improvement
  • Ensuring company policies & procedures are adhered to within the department
  • Monthly and annual reviews
  • Managing client relationships and attending meetings where necessary

Keys skills & attributes required:

  • Experience of managing a department and leading a team
  • Ability to multitask and manage an often heavy workload with conflicting priorities
  • Must be computer literate with good ECfce3l skills and knowledge of accounting software
  • Previous use of Merit advantageous
