Working for a leading company within the aerospace, defence, industrial, and energy industries, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Planner to join a well-established team based in Slough. This is a temporary role paying up to £15 per hour, starting for 3 months initially and with a view to go permanent.

Key Skills:

  • Good level of numerate and literate qualifications.
  • At least three years experience in a planning role in an industrial, manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Very good working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems. Knowledge of M3 would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, team work and influencing skills. Able to liaise with Team Leaders and shop floor staff.
  • Strong administration and organisational skills.
  • Able to work within deadlines and prioritise workload.
  • Strong IT skills including high level of proficiency in Excel. Able to handle & analyse complex data.
  • Follow company procedures at all times & excellent attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule material production.
  • Liaise with Manufacturing, Assembly Team Leaders, and/ or production manager to discuss production capacity and ensure an achievable plan is established.
  • Liaise with customers and/or customer services team, to achieve the delivery date on the computer system.
  • Assist with the creation and input of MRP data to provide an efficient MRP system.
  • Keep internal and external customers up to date with relevant information regarding order progress.
  • Work as a member of the Operations Team to identify problems and initiate solutions.
  • Liaise with sister companies regarding deliveries and shipments.
  • Assist the Demand Management team for S&OP process when required.
  • Communicate with all relevant parties to resolve issues preventing fulfilment of orders.
  • Work on the improving the planning process to be more lean and efficient.
  • Train the other planners on modern planning technics & on new planning methodologies.
