Software Buyer - 12 month contract

Salary: £19,000 to £21,000

Job Type: Full Time, Contract

Our client, a large vibrant and exciting organisation offering superb benefits, is looking for a Software Buyer to be a key member of the Licensing Team within the Procurement Department. The role holder will be responsible for processing high volume of software licensing orders and understanding how key licensing agreements work.

Previous experience in a procurement role and knowledge of software licensing would be advantageous but not essential. Full training will be given.

The successful candidate will be personable, bright, articulate and quick to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raise purchase orders by ensuring they meet vendor requirements and price
  • Have good knowledge of software licensing agreements and keep up to date with new programmes and changes
  • Work to the preferred suppliers list for all vendors
  • Work to tight deadlines to ensure orders are processed to agreed service level agreements
  • Manage queries relating to orders from sales teams, suppliers and vendors
  • Monitor and expedite orders through to completion
  • Take responsibility to improve own licensing knowledge
  • Support other members of the team where required

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, work well under pressure and work to tight deadlines
  • Exceptional communication skills, on all levels
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to learn quickly and retain large quantities of information
  • Proactively learn about core licensing programmes and keep knowledge up to date by taking online exams
