A dynamic, robust, and highly successful technology services company, with an international client base, is seeking a Technical Project Manager with some previous industry experience to fulfil an exciting and varied dual role in an expanding, ambitious and driven company.

The company is based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, and for over 15 years has been an industry leader in Type Approval and Regulatory Certification of wireless products, consumer, and industrial electrical goods.

As a Technical Project Manager your duties will include:

  • Driving and managing international Type Approval projects to ensure deadlines are met
  • Facilitating and participating in all aspects of international project management, including providing quotations, project scheduling, customer status reporting and conference calls
  • Providing technical solutions and expertise to both customer and in-house technical challenges
  • Negotiating and liaising with Government Regulators, Certification Bodies, and Test Houses to provide pragmatic & constructive solutions to regulatory challenges
  • Assisting with customer enquiries and providing day to day support for customers on a range of radio type approval and technical matters
  • Review technical product documents (such as test reports, circuit and PCB layout diagrams) to ensure they are suitable for Type Approval and product certification applications
  • Prepare and pre-test engineering samples before they are shipped to overseas test laboratories
  • Support formal testing at overseas type approval test laboratories, as needed
  • Manage and support international research projects on new technologies

Candidate Requirements

  • Educated to bachelor's degree in a relevant field - e.g Engineering (any discipline), Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science etc
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of industry experience in the field of project management with an engineering focus
  • Be customer focused and have an excellent business aptitude
  • Be technically minded, and have some previous experience with reviewing, analysing, and interpreting engineering documents, drawings and test reports
  • Have experience using RF measurement equipment (Spectrum analyser) and familiarity with conformity testing on modern radio data communications technologies (e.g BT, WLAN)
  • Be driven, flexible, proactive and enthusiastic, with the ability to prioritise work and work under pressure.
  • A second language would be advantageous
  • Have excellent relationship building skills
  • Good knowledge of computers and MS Office Professional suite
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Multi-task oriented
  • Willing to travel internationally (<10% of the time)
