A leading University are looking for a Database and Donor Research Officer to play an essential role in supporting the growth of its fundraising and alumni relations programme. This is a temporary role for someone who would like to experience being in a team that inspires individuals to succeed academically, socially and personally.

The role -

  • Taking responsibility for the overall quality and accuracy of data held on the Raiser's Edge database;
  • Implementing a plan to improve the quantity and quality of data;
  • Developing and running queries and reports and analysing data;
  • Setting up and processing gifts from donors, including management of Gift Aid claim;
  • Proactive in identifying and implementing new systems and processes to enable the work of the office to be carried out with ever greater efficiency and effectiveness, with the support of the Operations Manager;
  • Developing and delivering training for other staff within the Office and assisting with queries as they arise.

The person -

  • Experience of using a relationship management database such as Raiser's Edge
  • Evidence of an understanding of the role of databases in a fundraising function.
  • Experience of using a wide range of data and research sources and applying these to produce analysis and insight
  • Drives to deliver results: understands the role data and research plays in laying the foundations for successful fundraising
  • Curious and creative: challenges existing activity; makes innovation a hallmark of their work.
