Quite a Year for Bucks and Berks Recruitment

On13/ 12 /17

2017 has been a momentous year for Bucks and Berks Recruitment. Hot off the press, our Principal Permanent Consultant, Lucy Cameron, was shortlisted as ‘Permanent Consultant of the Year’ at the National IRP Awards last week, as a result of her and the team’s hard work and tenacity throughout the year.

In addition to this, it’s been one year since we moved our Marlow, Windsor and Maidenhead offices under one roof in Regatta House, Marlow, though the Bracknell office still remains.  More impressively, it also marks 70 years of Bucks and Berks Recruitment being in the Hamilton family and 95 years since the business was established.

95 years ago, Bucks and Berks Recruitment started out as Bucks and Berks Domestic Bureau, working out of Wellington Street, Slough, supplying maids, cleaners and cooks to large country houses and estates in the Thames Valley area – rather reminiscent of Downtown Abbey.

In 1947, Lorna Hamilton acquired the business, initially running the company from her family front room in Farnham, Slough. The agency has remained in the family, with John Hamilton (Chairman) and Peter Hamilton (Director) heading up the company until 2015, when Lorna Hamilton’s granddaughter, Joanna Cooper, followed in her grandmother’s footsteps to become the Managing Director.

Bucks & Berks Recruitment Going Strong After 95 Years

Bucks and Berks Recruitment must surely be one of the oldest recruitment agencies in the UK. With the company growing and hurtling towards a century in business, we continue to go from strength to strength. As a local, family run business, we employ over 30 staff who work tirelessly to match the right candidate to the right company across the Thames Valley area, having placed thousands of local candidates with local companies over the years. We look forward to our continued work with you in 2018.
