Time to Relax

On04/ 08 /16
It's time to unwind and take a well-earned break over the summer.

While some people will be heading to the beach with a good book, others will be seeking adventure, or perhaps even going off grid.

When it comes to holidays, we all enjoy relaxing in different ways.

What holiday type are you? Beach bum, adrenaline junkie or maybe a city slicker?

Beach Bum

To many of us, holiday means relaxing on the beach or by the pool. And thanks to low cost air travel, there are plenty of beach retreats within easy reach.

Greece, with its 227 inhabited islands, offers something for almost everyone, from sublime Santorini to captivating Corfu. Greek beaches are frequently listed amongst the best in the world, with favourites including Fakistra on the Greek mainland and St George beach, Naxos.
Meanwhile, Croatia is gaining popularity and offers some stunning beaches and resorts. Many destinations are still relatively unspoilt, including Porect and Rovinj in the North- East.

Adrenaline Junkie

For Adreline junkies, a holiday just isn’t a holiday without leaving your comfort zone.

The Alps offer a variety of activities from rock climbing and cycling to white water rafting and downhill mountain biking. Many winter ski resorts are a hive of activity in summer with options to suit even the most intrepid adventurers.

Watersports addicts can choose from a range of European locations to hone their skills, including Spain, Greece and Italy. The Italian island of Sardinia is a beautiful spot to enjoy a range of watersports from windsurfing to scuba diving.

City Slicker

Europe is ideal for city slickers looking to explore the sights or track down the coolest bars. From Berlin to Milan, there are city breaks for every taste.

Milan is a shoppers paradise, whilst Berlin is famed for its nightlife and Paris for its romance. Warning - City breaks are ideal for those who enjoy being active and exploring, you’ll probably have aching feet at the end of the day!

Let’s face it sometimes you just want to get away from it all and have a proper break from the daily routine.

There are some incredible off-grid getaways out there, from yoga and mindfulness retreats to art and writing workshops - and you don’t even need to go abroad.

Camping and glamping are hugely popular options in the West Country and other areas of rural Britain. Or why not visit sunnier climbs such as Portugal or Spain to relax and get away from it all?

This type of holiday also suits those who enjoy being close to nature and taking in the beautiful views on offer.

So there you have it. Whatever your holiday type, there is something out there to help you relax and unwind. And let’s not forget the importance of down-time in our working lives. We hope that you return to work after your summer break with renewed energy to fulfil your career goals.
