We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Xero Accounts Clerk to manage day-to-day financial transactions using Xero accounting software. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and providing general support to the finance function.
This role is ideal for an experienced accounts professional with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and a confident working knowledge of Xero.
This role is part time (12 hours per week) over 3 mornings and is temporary until at least November.
Duties include
- Process purchase and sales invoices accurately using Xero.
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and PayPal accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Prepare and issue customer invoices when required.
- Monitor outstanding customer payments and follow up overdue accounts.
- Process supplier payments and maintain supplier records.
- Assist with payroll preparation and pension administration when required.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Support month-end and year-end accounting processes.
- Produce financial reports for management.
- Assist with budgeting and cash flow monitoring.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and external accountants regarding finance-related queries.
Skills/Experience
- Previous experience in an Accounts Clerk, Finance Assistant, Bookkeeper, or similar finance role.
- Advanced proficiency in Xero accounting software.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting procedures.
- Experience with bank reconciliations and invoice processing.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- AAT qualification or currently studying towards AAT.
- Experience with payroll processing.
- Experience working within a small or medium-sized business environment.
