We are seeking a highly organised and professional Personal Assistant to provide high-quality administrative and governance support to SEN Executive Principals, the Chair of Governors, and the Governing Board.
This is a pivotal and brand new role ensuring the effective operation of governance processes across multiple school sites. You will play a key part in maintaining compliance with statutory requirements, coordinating meetings, and supporting senior stakeholders with efficiency and discretion.
We are looking for a proactive and highly organised PA with excellent minute taking skills.
The role is primarily based in Ascot, with travel (pool car provided) to additional sites occasionally.
The role is full time, Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, with hybrid working (3 days in, 2 from home) and comes with superb benefits including free lunches, amazing pension scheme and 26 days holiday.
Duties include
Governance Support
- Organise and coordinate meetings of the Governing Board, committees, and Health & Safety groups
- Prepare and distribute agendas, papers, and supporting documentation
- Attend meetings (including occasional evenings) and produce accurate minutes
- Maintain records of meetings, actions, and decisions
Administrative Support
- Provide dedicated PA support to the Chair of Governors
- Liaise with Executive PA colleagues and senior leadership teams
- Manage governance-related correspondence and documentation
- Maintain accurate records including membership, attendance, and declarations of interest
- Support recruitment and induction of new governors
Communication
- Act as the main point of contact for governors
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Ensure clear communication and follow-up of decisions and actions
Compliance & Record Keeping
- Maintain statutory governance records and registers
- Support the governing body in meeting legal and regulatory obligations
- Ensure policies and documentation are up to date and accessible
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Proven PA experience supporting senior stakeholders
- Exceptional time management and calendar management skills
- High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace)
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Fast, accurate typing (60-80 wpm) with strong attention to detail
- Skilled in minute-taking and transcription from meetings or recordings
- Flexible approach, including availability for occasional evening meetings
Desirable
- Experience supporting boards or governance structures
- Knowledge of school governance or the education sector
- Previous experience as a Clerk to Governors or Board Administrator
- Shorthand skills (e.g. Pitman or Teeline)
