Working In Slough



Slough offers a diverse range of job opportunities, a busy retail centre and great leisure facilities.

Slough Trading Estate is one of the biggest in the world, housing over 500 businesses. Tenants such as O2, Fiat Group, Yell, Electrolux, GlaxoSmithKline, Mars and Virgin Media are just a small handful of multinational brands situated within this area, while small businesses also prosper here.

Slough is home to approximately 87,000 jobs in 4,600 businesses with salaries well above the South East and national averages. The town was recently voted the 'best place' to work and live in a survey by recruitment website Glassdoor.

Slough is extremely well connected thanks to its position on the M4, close to Heathrow with fast rail links to London and Reading. It's accessible, close to London and business is thriving here.

Slough is situated on the M4 corridor, providing easy access to London and the South West. Slough Railway Station offers fast direct links to London Paddington and Reading, where passengers can pick-up a wide range of national connections.

Slough also benefits from a good network of bus routes including a Heathrow airport service. Central London and Heathrow journey times are set to reduce further with the arrival of Crossrail in 2019.


More than just a workplace

Slough schools include the Ofsted rated outstanding St Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School and Westgate Schools. There are also some excellent primary schools such as Cippenham Primary School.

Slough trading estate is home to a catalogue of big brands including Mars, Telefonica, O2 and Fiat. A large number of start-ups and growing brands are also based here. The park has a working population of around 20,000 people and is located to the North West of the town.

Slough has a good selection of pubs and bars spread across the town. The Rising Sun and The Moon and Spoon (A Weatherspoons) make good spots for after-work drinks when in the centre of town.  A short drive out in Wexham you can find the Red Lion pub which is fantastic for food and drinks.

Slough is home to a range of sports centres including the Langley and Montem Leisure centres and a variety of gyms. Facilities include swimming pools, sports fields and courts as well as an athletics centre.
